Hold On - Alabama Shakes

I'm impressed to say that my Dad suggested I listen to Alabama Shakes. One track he mentioned in particular was Hold On. The lyrics mention making it to 22 years old. Not quite sure how I should feel about the connection he made between the song and I. True, I'm about to turn 22 but I always thought I'd make it here and far far beyond. 

Singer, Brittany Howard, has an incredibly strong voice - I had almost mistaken her for a man. There are no surprises that my Dad instantly wanted to buy their album, Boys and Girls, the band suits his love for alternative music perfectly.

After seeing City and Colour on Monday evening, my obsession for the Canadian singer (Dallas Green) has undeniably grown. I've made it known I'd marry him, if only he wasn't already hitched - damn! Hope you enjoy this cover he did for triple j's Like a Version. He also performed this at his Groovin' the Moo side show in Sydney Monday May 14th - just bliss.
